I had this sauce at a wine tasting in Provence, served along the fantastic rosé wines. The taste is not very strong, so it’s really ok to have it in public! After the wine tasting event we bought a few bottles of wine and a small jar of the sauce and it disappeared pretty quickly.

It’s a sauce to make if you have an overflow of tomatoes, especially overripe and maybe not pretty enough for a tomato carpaccio… The list of ingredients is very short, it’s simple and it tastes like summer. If you like it very much you can have it as a  soup as well.

A beautiful cheesy sauce which works great with pasta. Invented by an Italian restaurateur (named Alfredo of course) consisted only of Parmesan and butter, then upgraded in the US with cream and garlic.  Yummie. Refried beans is something I tried in US and I love it since. Back in Europe I look for any opportunity to have anything similar to the tex-mex version I had there. Wrapped up in a tortilla with some cheese is just a perfect comfort food. Or an indispensable element of a ‘Mexican fiesta‘ .
